Highly photocatalytic activity of natural halloysite - based material for the treatment of dyes in wastewater

In this study, the halloysite nanotube material will be fabricated from a natural mineral and used as support for photocatalytic activity phase based on TiO2. The is characterized by modern physicochemical methods such XRD, SEM, BET, UV - vis spectrum, EDX. Accordingly, refined has nanoscale with length of about 1.3 μm capillary size 5 nm. After deposition Ag TiO2 halloysite, specific surface measured BET method was 60 m2/g, structure intact. band gap energy prepared materials also significantly improved in comparison to pure TiO2, makes capable absorbing longer wavelengths light process. Photocatalyst Halloysite showed very high efficiency, up more than 95% decomposition typical organic pollutant RR 195. This result shows great potential novel environmental treatment applications.
